The McNeil Center will distribute eight awards up to $1,000 to facilitate the travel of students enrolled at MCEAS Consortium institutions to attend the 2024 Benjamin Franklin Distinguished Lectures.
The inaugural Benjamin Franklin Distinguished lectures will be given by David Waldstreicher, Distinguished Professor of History at The CUNY Graduate Center, at the Center’s Philadelphia facility on November 4, 6, and 7, and titled “Three Ages of Slavery and the Future of U.S. History.”
Doctoral student recipients will also be invited to attend Professor Waldstreicher’s masterclass in historical methods and research, to be held on the afternoon of November 6.
To apply, please submit a one-page cover letter explaining your interest in the topic of the lectures or the work of Professor Waldstreicher, along with a CV, combined into one PDF document. Applications must be submitted by September 15, 2024.
