Marlis Hinckley, Johns Hopkins University
Marlis Hinckley is a current PhD candidate in the Department of the History of Science at Johns Hopkins University, writing on botanical thought in 16th-century New Spain and Iberia. Her past publications include work on Franciscan dietary practices in New Spain and beekeeping in 17th-century England, and her research interests include the interface between science, medicine, and religion, as well as the development of modern classificatory systems in science.
