Lydia Curliss, University of Maryland
Lydia Curliss (Nipmuc) is a PhD Candidate at the University of Maryland, College of Information. Her research interests include Indigenous Knowledges, cultural heritage memory institutions and their collections, accessibility, ethical care, and community centered research practice. Her dissertation research will focus on the interactions and relationships between Indigenous communities, their Knowledges, and Cultural Heritage Memory Institutions. She has been involved in various projects focused on Indigenous collections, communities, and access, such as Reclaiming Heritage (a project funded by the Omohundro Institute, in conjunction with the American Antiquarian Society) and the Stolen Relations Project at Brown University. She holds both an MLS and MIS from Indiana University, and a BA in Geology from Oberlin College.
