Sherri Cummings, Rhode Island College
Dr. Cummings is jointly appointed in History and Africana Studies at Rhode Island College. Her research interests include Africa and the Atlantic World, Early African American History and Africana Intellectual History. A native of New York City, Dr. Cummings earned her PhD from Brown University where her research focused on the enslavement of African girls in the British Atlantic from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries.
